About Carl

Carl Zeilman has an energizing new vision that he will bring to Albany County government. As the County Legislator from Colonie, Carl is making it his priority to involve the entire community in shaping the future of Colonie and the entire county of Albany a future he believes is now more promising than ever.

Carl’s top priorities will be strengthening the local economy, fighting to keep taxes low, keeping the community safe from crime, and most of all, being a STRONG voice for ALL the people of his district.

Carl WILL represent people not government.

Carl P. Zeilman is the fourth of five children born to Ursula and Charles Zeilman of Colonie. He was raised in South Colonie, and has remained a resident of the Town for the past 31 years.

Growing up in the Town of Colonie in a modest home with his parents and four siblings, Carl knows the value of family and the meaning of hard work.

Carl recently served as the Town of Colonie’s Public Information Officer, where he was the Town’s spokesman and media relations coordinator. From this unique position, Carl has added to what he knows about the Town, as he now understands it as a resident and a fomer employee.

Carl was educated at Colonie Central High School and the State University of New York at Albany, and has recently completed his master’s degree in Public Administration at the Sage Graduate School in Albany.
